Clan Davidson meets in central Aberdeen 28-30 September 2018
Aberdeen City view
This year we will be holding our annual Gathering in the City of Aberdeen for the first time.

Many different Davidson families have ancestors who originate from Aberdeen and North East Scotland. Some of today's Clan Davidson Association members have extensive family links to this region of Scotland.

Davidsons from around the world come to our Gatherings, and this year we will delighted to welcome our Clan Chief, Grant Davidson and his wife Brenda, who intend to travel from their home in New Zealand to join us and take part in this event.

Aberdeen Maritime Museum King's College, Aberdeen University

Aberdeen is a busy shopping centre for the region, and there are a good range of shops on its mile-long Union Street. The City has many attractions. The Maritime Museum overlooking the harbour provides a fascinating insight into the long history of this busy port. The Gordon Highlanders Museum links the history of this famous regiment with the region. Duthie Park alongside the River Dee is well worth a visit, and so is the area of Old Aberdeen with St Machar's Cathedral and the historic University Buildings.

In St Nicholas Kirk there is a memorial to Robert Davidson, Provost of Aberdeen, who was killed in the battle of Harlaw in 1411. Provost Davidson led out the Aberdeen forces to defend the city and he died in the confrontation, along with many hundreds of Scots from both sides of the battle. For more information see Commemoration of Provost Davidson at battle of Harlaw, 1411 in Past events

Inverness Highland Games, 21 July 2018
The Clan Davidson Association plan to take a stand in the clans tent at Bught Park, Inverness during the annual Inverness Highland Games. Some twenty different clans and local societies take stands inside a large tent, which is organised by the Association of Highland Clans & Societies. Many visitors to the games from overseas visit the stands in the tent to find out more about Scottish family history from clan representatives - do come and meet us at this event.
